On the “Allegro vivace” show, a series of interviews began with the prize bearers from the “Musician of the year, 2024” poll. The gala concert took place on the 12th of May 2025, in BNR’s First studio. The event took place under the patronage of assoc. prof. Natalia Kiselova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The opera prima Gabriela Georgieva, a lead soprano in the Sofia Opera ensemble, won the national poll among listeners of the classical music show “Allegro vivace” on radio “Horizont”.
In 2024, Georgieva made a series of quite memorable debuts in new roles on the Sofia Opera stage: the lead role in the opera “Medea” by Cherubini in February; the role of Ortrud in “Lohengrin” by Wagner in June and the leading role in the opera “Adriana Lecouvreur” by Cilea in November.
Her performances were highly praised by the audience, music critics and the professional guild. Gabriela Georgieva was awarded the “Crystal Lyre” prize by the Bulgarian music and dance figures Union in the “Opera art” category. The listeners of “Allegro vivace” have already acclaimed her active creative work in the “Musician of the year, 2018” poll.
Now, Gabriela Georgieva, in the peak of her career, is again the new “Musician of the year” thanks to her fans. At the gala concert, we had the opportunity to see both the Musician and Ensemble of the year perform together and this doesn’t happen often. BNR’s symphonic orchestra partnered with the prima on stage with which she recently recorded new studio music.
