Thrilling, full of passion and emotion: this is the opera “Tosca” by Giacomo Puccini. With its beautiful score and captivating story, “Tosca” takes viewers into a world of love, jealousy and death. Victorien Sardu’s melodrama of the same name written for the great actress Sara Bernardt is the basis for the libretto.
“Tosca” tells the story of the wonderful singer Floria Tosca who is in love with artist Mario Cavaradossi. She finds herself in the center of political intrigues and is persistently hunted down by the cruel baron Scarpia. In the end, Tosca is forced to make a painful choice between her own dignity and honor and the freedom of Mario, her beloved.
Plamen Kartaloff’s production reveals the dramatism of Puccini’s score and touches viewers through brilliant directorship and scenography.
