Boyan Arsov and Rossen Nenchev hinted at how they’re going to perform their roles this time
The musical “Mamma Mia!” returns to the Sofia Opera from the 20th till the 28th of July
“The premiere took place in the now faraway year of 2018. For eight years, the performance has been a part of our repertoire. We’ve had over 130 showings and the audience loves it very much”, actor Boyan Arsov shared on the “Bulgaria sutrin” show.
According to actor Rossen Nenchev, the musical is a social phenomenon in Bulgaria: for eight years, all performances have always been sold out.
“I play the role of Sam Carmichael portrayed by Pierce Brosnan in the movie: an architect who returns to seek the love of his life twenty years later and finds it, in the end”, he shared for Bulgaria ON AIR.
ABBA’s music is one of the main elements along with the entire ensemble’s energy on stage, according to Arsov.
“I portray Pepper: a doltish young man. He’s one of Sky’s friends who helps with all the wedding preparations and has an affair with one of the guests”, the actor shares.
“Every artist must always reimagine the role he’s playing because otherwise it gets boring and routine. That’s why I’m always looking for new nuances in my performances”, Nenchev added.
