The sixth edition of the “Muses on the Water” festival will open on the 11th of July with a series of seven performances of the “Swan Lake” ballet by P.I. Tchaikovsky.
In the role of Odetta-Odilia we will see the three Sofia Opera prima ballerinas Boryana Petrova, Katerina Petrova and Marta Petkova. As Prince Siegfried, you will be able to see three of our lead singers: Emil Yordanov, Tsetso Ivanov and Nikola Hadzhitanev. Vincenzo Caruana will debut as the wizard Rotbart; our audience will also enjoy the performance of Kristiyan Manev, Frederico Pinto and Rumen Bonev. Simeon Atanasov, Francesco Congiusti and Vincenzo Caruana will all perform the role of the Jester.
We will see Elena Petrova, Polina Ivanova, Takafumi Tamagava, Kristina Chochanova, Vyara Ivancheva, Pamela Pandova, Maria Yordanova and Georgi Banchev perform a Pas de trois in the performances on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th of July, with the participation of Sofia Opera lead singers and corps de ballet.
An open stage premiere of “Romeo and Juliet” will take place: the most famous love story enriched by Sergei Prokofiev’s score and Kaloyan Boyadzhiev’s choreography. The performances will take place on the 26th and the 27th of July and on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of August. Starring: Boryana Petrova, Vyara Ivancheva and Marta Petkova (Juliet); Emil Yordanov, Nikola Hadzhitanev, Frederico Pinto and Simeon Atanasov (debut) as Romeo; Georgi Banchev, Vincenzo Caruana and Kristian Manev (debut) as Mercutio; Rumen Bonev and Alexandar Alexandrov as Tibalt; Sofia Opera lead singers and corps de ballet.

From the 9th till the 17th of August, you will be able to see the musical “MAMMA MIA!” by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The thrilling performance directed by Plamen Kartaloff will once again bring pleasure to all fans of ABBA’s timeless songs.
