The young Chinese tenor is among the most sought after singers in many European theatres. Among his most performed roles are those in Rossini and Donizetti’s opera comedies as well as roles in many operas by Mozart. After having studied in China, he continued his education in Berlin. He performs in theaters in Graz, Bielefeld, Gdansk, Avignon etc.
On the 16th of November, under the conductorship of Alexandra Lyubchanski, Lianghua Gong will make his debut in Sofia. He will perform as Don Ramiro and Maria Radoeva: as Angelina, his lover on stage. Radoeva is a wonderful singer who is among the notable performers of the role of Angelina. The family of the unhappy Cinderella consists of her mean stepfather Don Magnifico (Nikolay Petrov) and her constantly arguing sisters: Tisbe (Blagovesta Mekki-Tsvetkova) and Clorinda (Maria Pavlova). Forgoing the magical fairy’s character, Rossini creates the one of Alidoro, instead: the mentor of Prince Ramiro (Stefan Vladimirov) as well as his loyal servant Dandini (Atanas Mladenov). Both of them will help the prince find true love in the face of Angelina. Also starring the Sofia Opera choir, conducted by Violeta Dimitrova.

The opera comedy is set in a fantasy world which unleashed the entire production team’s creative power to prepare a brilliant performance full of positive energy. The production has been a part of the Sofia Opera’s repertoire for over ten years. As Vera Petrova shared, “The opera “Cinderella” is our sunny getaway island”.
