The world-famous bel canto singer Jessica Pratt returns to the Sofia Opera on the 3rd of May with an opera gala. After having performed the most remarkable madness scenes in opera literature, this time she chose a just as dramatic title for her next concert: “Spring of a Doomed Love”.
Besides arias from Vincenzo Bellini’s famous operas “La Somnambula”, “Il Puritani”, “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” and “Norma” she included two more exceptionally attractive scenes: that of Ophelia in “Hamlet” by Ambroise Thomas and that of Olympia in “The Tales of Hoffmann” by Jacques Offenbach.
The Sofia Opera orchestra under the conductorship of Francesco Ivan Ciampa will enhance the evening with instrumental fragments from “Norma” by Vincenzo Bellini, “Anne Boleyn” by Gaetano Donizetti and “Thais” by Jules Massenet.
