25 years of artistic activity of the famous Bulgarian bass Orlin Anastasov – in the role of Filippo II

On 2 February with the opera “Don Carlo” by Giuseppe Verdi, the Sofia Opera will celebrate 25 years of artistic activity of the bass Orlin Anastasov, who will play the role of Filippo II.

Orlin Anastasov made his debut on the opera stage at the age of 22, won Placido Domingo's prestigious Operalia competition, and went on to a stunning global career in the world's greatest theatres. These include La Scala di Milano, the Metropolitan Opera New York, Covent Garden London, the Grand Opera de Paris, the Rome Opera, and the Vienna Staatsoper.

The exceptional bass has a massive and beautiful voice and is always applauded by the audience. The world music critics do not spare their superlatives for his performance as Don Basilio, Attila, Don Quichote, Boris Godunov, Mephistopheles, Fiesco, Dosifey.

Orlin Anastasov is the last of the pleiad of Bulgarian basses, who over the years have conquered more than one world stage.
