“Opera of the Peaks” for a second time on the Belogradchik Rocks

The summer festival “Opera of the Peaks – Belogradchik Rocks 2017” for a second year will attract the interest of the tourists and the connoisseurs from Bulgaria and the neighbour countries to the magic of the opera and ballet art. Five opera and four ballet titles, as well as the cave festival impression “Wagner Magura. Gods, giants, dwarfs, valkyries” will conquer the imagination and the senses of the curious spectators from 21 July to 5 August. The immense success of the first edition of the festival last year and the desire of the people from this region to have the possibility to experience unique moments around the natural phenomenon Belogradchik Rocks are inspiration for the rich festival programme. It includes the operas “Nabucco” by Verdi, “Lakmé” by Delibes, “Tosca” and “Madam Butterfly” by Puccini and “La Cenerentola” by Rossini. The ballet programme offers no less temptations – the hit spectacle “Zorba the Greek” after the music by Mikis Theodorakis and choreography by Lorca Massine, the one-act ballet “Carmen” after the music of Bizet-Shchedrin and “Rhapsody in Blue” by Gershwin, as well as the classical work “Don Quixote” after music by Ludwig Minkus.

With special impatience are expected the new spectacles of the provoked furore last summer cave festival impression “Wagner Magura”. Amidst the natural beauty of the natural phenomenon the Magura Cave gods, giants, dwarfs and valkyries will offer the unique experience to the opera admirers with Richard Wagner’s music. After the end of the magical performance there will be a degustation of wines from the wine-cellar of the same name. The tickets for the festival are already in sale at the prices BGN 30-80 for the opera and 20-60 for the ballet spectacles. The tickets for the performance in the Magura Cave are at BGN 80.
