SOFIA OPERA PEARLS STREAMS
a series of broadcasts of operatic pearls in the archive of the rich opera and ballet repertoire of the Sofia Opera.
In order to avoid the absence of our loyal audience, accustomed to our performances on the five stages of the Sofia Opera, namely:
the Grand Hall of the Sofia Opera, the Chamber Hall, the Babies Hall, the summer festival stages of the Opera at the Military Academy Park, "Belogradchik Rocks" and the festival performance "Wagner-Magura", we shall broadcast recordings of some of our opera and ballet productions created in the past seasons.
The premiere night of SOFIA OPERA PEARLS STREAMS is Sunday, 15.03. at 19.00 on our official page in Facebook.
We will present the first Bulgarian historical opera
BORISLAV – the great voivode Tsar Ivan Asen II by Maestro Georgi Atanasov. The libretto is based on the historical drama of Ivan Vazov.
With this online performance, the Sofia Opera also pays homage to the anniversary of the poet's 170th birthday.
Particularly exciting are the verses of Ana Alexandrova, whose poetic leitmotif connections are in the construction of BORISLAV's directorial design – the great voivode of Tsar Ivan Asen II. Today they sound like a true Prayer for Bulgaria, a message in the new trials of our Motherland.
