ONE-THIRD OF THE SALES OF THE SOFIA OPERA FOR 2016 WERE MADE ONLINE

The online sale of tickets has risen 17 times in comparison to 2012

Nearly one-third (27 %) of the sales of the Sofia Opera and Ballet for 2016 were made online. The leap compared to 2012 is with the record 17 times more. For this increase main role has the introduced through ePay.bg online sales module of the Opera. After registration and payment, the client receives an e-mail with an electronic ticket, which doesn’t need to be printed out. Before the spectacle at the entrance one must show only the attached file from the e-mail, directly from the smartphone’s screen.

“This system is not only modern and technological. Through it we are trying to stimulate the opera lovers to think more about the nature, while not buying tickets on paper and not printing out electronic tickets or vouchers. This innovation has one more effect – we can mark a considerable growth of our foreign audience, as well as of visitors from Bulgaria at an age between 18 and 45 years”, shared the Deputy Director “Administrative Issues” Hristina Staneva. With her active role this service was introduced last year, when the record increase was marked.

The innovations, however, don’t stop up to here. At the moment we work on a mobile version of the web site of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. “Soon the theatre will have its own mobile application, which will give information about the programme and the spectacles. With these innovations our ambition is in 2017 to have again growth in the online sales”, shared Hristina Staneva.
